About the ktalk Community

ktalk Guidelines

ktalk is a community of young adults with CKD, created to help members find information and support from those who understand them the best—other young adults with CKD. The following are some general guidelines we believe will help ensure that the community is a safe environment for people to share their experiences with CKD.

Be Yourself

Be honest and truthful about who you are and the experiences you’ve had. Don’t misrepresent yourself to others in the community. This is a place where you don’t have to pretend to be the perfect patient.

Be Respectful

Respect other members on the site. Do not use aggressive or offensive language. Please report any content that you think is disrespectful—it will help us maintain a safe, comfortable environment for everyone.

Be Supportive

Show compassion to other members of the site. People are sharing very personal and sensitive information about themselves. Be understanding of their thoughts and feelings even if they are different then your own.

Protect your privacy and the privacy of others

Do not disclose publicly too much personal information about yourself such as your real name or telephone number. If you know the identity of a member on the site please respect the person’s privacy by not posting personal information about that person on the site. Do not identify your renal team or other healthcare workers by name.

To learn more about how your privacy is protected on the site please read the ktalk Privacy Policy.
